Best Practices: Application Acceleration for O365

Kenneth Vicchio, Senior Solutions Engineer, Riverbed

Work-from-anywhere users increasingly rely on software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications to communicate, share, and collaborate with their colleagues. Microsoft Office 365 is the premier SaaS application in this space, with a global network footprint for Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.

Despite the global footprint, the performance of Office 365 relies on the user’s local Internet connection, which may be less than ideal for a work-from-anywhere user. Client Accelerator and SaaS Accelerator services from Riverbed help to improve the performance of Office 365 services for users by reducing network resource requirements and improving data transfer.

In this session, Riverbed’s Kenny Vicchio will walk you through the Client Accelerator and SaaS Accelerator technologies and showcase how Riverbed can help ensure the user gets optimal performance over any network connection.

Threat Hunting with Riverbed

John Murphy, Technical Director, Riverbed

Traditional security posture has centered around building defenses and responding to incidents. Although these efforts are necessary, they aren’t enough in today’s world, where an increasingly advanced adversary is evolving as quickly as our detection tooling advances. A big wall is no longer enough to keep the network safe. Today’s threats require a more dynamic approach to security.

Cyber hunting is the art of actively seeking out and disabling the most skilled and dangerous network intruders. Hunting is best done with dedicated teams that have ubiquitous access to telemetry across the network. The hunters must have an “active defense” mindset to win the cat-and-mouse game with cyber criminals.

This session explores the challenges surrounding effective cyber hunting, including building out a telemetry gathering network and evolving the security game from static defense to active pursuit.
